Dr. Marwa Hakimi, a Bay Area native, graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. She was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and earned her medical degree from the University of California Davis. Following her residency, Dr. Hakimi completed a fellowship in dermatology at the University of California San Francisco. Her training focused on complex chronic inflammatory skin conditions, which included providing specialized care for patients at the world-renowned Psoriasis and Skin Treatment Center.

Also, as part of her fellowship, she served as the sub-investigator of multiple clinical trials, contributing to advancements in dermatological research. Dr. Hakimi has presented at national conferences, and is the co-author of over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She has been recognized for her contributions to the field, having been selected as the honorary medical chair of the National Psoriasis Foundation for the 2022 and 2023 Bay Area Take Action Events.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Hakimi is deeply committed to patient advocacy efforts aimed at improving patient access and affordability of prescription medications. She participates in the annual Capitol Hill Day, lobbying members of Congress on pertinent legislation. Her professional interests include general dermatology, complex inflammatory skin conditions, comprehensive medical care of comorbidities, medical education, health technology and precision medicine.
