Emily Green, MD
Dr. Green completed her undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors degree in Biology. She attended medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she fell in love with medicine and the specialty of pathology. She then completed a 4 year anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Washington University in St. Louis.
After residency, Dr. Green completed a highly competitive fellowship program in Dermatopathology at the University of Chicago. There she studied the microscopic diagnosis of skin diseases under the instruction of Dr. Christopher Shea and Dr. Vesna Rosic (now Chair of Dermatology at Georgetown University). During that time Dr. Green gained expertise in the recognition and diagnosis of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, adnexal tumors and inflammatory skin diseases. She also spent time seeing dermatology patients; an experience that she finds invaluable to her work today.
Dr. Green is passionate about combining cutting edge diagnostic tools to provide accurate timely results so that every patient can get the care they need. Though she rarely meets her patients, she cares deeply about them, and she treats every specimen as though it came from a member of her family. She is passionate about her work and continually strives to practice the art of pathology to the best of her abilities.
Her clinical interests include melanoma diagnosis and prognosis, inflammatory skin diseases, alopecia, and non-melanoma skin cancer.
